It all started when…
Lydic! Design and Production was born out of a need get back into the rehearsal spaces and theaters and crawl into the middle of the process of making theater and performance happen, after years of being stuck in the workshop.
I had, as Lydic!Design, been designing and making props for Broadway shows for several years when I went back on the road to tour as the Prop Master on the international tour of Robert Wilson and Philip Glass’ Einstein on the Beach, produced by Pomegranate Arts. It was thrilling to be back in the wings, in tech, in production meetings, and working closely with all the other departments that come together to make productions happen. I realized that with a good knowledge of how these various departments work, and a deep passion for making productions happen, that I should probably transition into production management. And thus, the word “Production” was added and Lydic! Design and Production was born.
